About Us

SophieDog Rescue is a small home based rescue in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. We have been rescuing puppies and dogs for many years from local shelters, southern hi-kill shelters and owner surrenders. We do not have a physical shelter so most of our dogs/puppies are located in foster homes in and around the Greater Cincinnati OH area.

We believe that there is a forever home waiting for every dog - and it is our job to find it. We understand what it takes to match a dog to the right family. Our track record is proof of our success.

Meet the Staff

Our staff is dedicated to helping our rescue animals understand humans, learn their ways, and find the perfect forever home.

Frank

Frank

Frank is our most senior staff member.

He has had lots of experience with puppies and knows just how to handle them. Frank is a strict disciplinarian. He runs a tight ship, there is no messing about on Frank's watch.

Sometimes there are so many puppies underfoot, Frank has to take time off and go hunting.

Suki

Suki

Come rain, shine, or snow, Suki is always on the job. We always know the puppies are safe in the yard when Suki is in charge of outdoor play.

Whenever the puppies go Suki is there to round them up and keep them safe.

Maisy

Maisy

Maisy is also very serious about discipline. She firmly believes that a puppy must learn its place in the family. She is very dedicated to her job, and keeps a very close eye on all her charges.

Maisy makes sure each puppy knows the ground rules. She gets very cross when a puppy does not follow her rules, but if you are a good puppy, she lets you snuggle up with her at night or when you are feeling sick or cold.

Bella

Bella

Bella enjoys playing with the puppies. She is always willing to play with puppy toys - in fact they often disappear from the puppy play area into Bella's toy box! I wonder how that happens!

Bella loves riding in the car and sleeping in the bed. Lets hope the puppies don't learn all her habits!

Ollie

Ollie

Ollie, is a skilled squirrel hunter, and he is positive that one day soon he will actually catch one!

He teaches the puppies outdoor skills, including how to play ball, catch a frisbee, and the etiquette of rough and tumble play. He is a fun coach, but has a strict "no nipping or biting" policy in his games and teaches everyone about sharing the toys.

Dorrie

Little Dorrit

Dorrie is the newest addition to our staff. She is still a pup herself, so totally understands a puppy's frustrations when dealing with humans.

She also has lots of experience with being the "new sibling" in the family and offers many tips to our puppies on how to find your place in the family.
